FAQ

How do I file a claim?

First, notify your advisor so he or she can guide you through the process and make sure you’re getting what you deserve. From there, you’ll need to actually file the claim yourself directly with the appropriate insurance company. While your advisor is there to be your advocate, he or she is not authorized to make changes to your account on your behalf.

How does JMIS compare to a brokerage?

The insurance services JMIS provides are very similar to a brokerage. Our independent advisors are not tied to one company like typical insurance agents are, but they aren’t entirely free to choose any insurance company in existence, like a broker. It’s a happy medium in which we’ve pre-selected a network of insurance companies that provide the level of service we expect for our customers, and match your needs to one of those partners.

How do you choose the insurance companies you work with?

We carefully select partners that provide comprehensive coverage, excellent customer service and a strong financial foundation, ensuring your claims will get paid quickly and easily to your full satisfaction. Partners may be added as we establish relationships with new companies that meet our criteria.

How much does it cost to partner with a JMIS advisor?

Directly, nothing. Indirectly, the commission paid to any insurance agent is built into fees charged by that specific insurance company. Often, those fees are built into overhead and essentially split among all policyholders, meaning you’re paying for agent commissions whether you, yourself, use one or not.

What happens to the personal information I give you?

We take information security very seriously and never sell your information. Any data we collect is expressly used to obtain quotes and assist you in obtaining insurance coverage.
